Otolift, established in 1891, has been manufacturing stairlifts for more than 40 years and has been the convincing market leader in the Netherlands for many years. Otolift was established in 1891 as Otto Ooms BV by Mr. Otto Ooms. The company mastered different disciplines in the decades that followed until it started to develop stairlifts in the 1960s.
Otolift introduced the unique AIR in 2016. This stairlift that uses one tube was again characterised by an extremely well-considered integration of state-of-the-art technology and design. This combination ensures that the AIR is a discrete all-rounder that can be installed on the narrowest and steepest of staircases without ever being in anyone's way.
The skill showed by Otolift was rewarded by the renowned RED DOT AWARD. Unique for a product such as a stairlift where Otolift found itself being distinguished among design top-class leaders.
The Otolift AIR stairlift has the smallest diameter rail tube of any other single rail stairlift on the current market. It is specially designed for narrow and steep stairs but can also be used on any other stair configuration. It is available with an extensive range of additional options to ensure you get a lift tailored to your personal needs.

The first thing to remember is that all stair lifts were not created equal! Although there is an ever growing demand for stair lift equipment, it is truly amazing how many out dated products are being installed in peoples homes throughout theUK. This old technology equipment can be troublesome for the user - why? - because it's unreliable. Things have moved on since the days of chain drives and trailing cables.
Modern stair lifts, like the Oto AIR curved Stair Lift, are state of the art, in terms of design and manufacture, yet are so simple to install and maintain.
As with most things - there is a baffling amount of choice out there in the marketplace. When choosing a piece of equipment like a stair lift, it is important to ensure that you are making like-for-like comparisons. Think carefully when buying this type of product via the internet. Your first real opportunity to clearly see the features, engineering (and limitations) of your new stair lift, are when it arrives on your doorstep.
A major advantage the Otolift AIR has over its rivals is the ability to run at an angle (as seen in the picture) ensuring a more comfortable ride with highest possible clearance for your knees. The ONE can also easily deal with steep, narrow and compex staircases, including multi-bend, multi-flight and even spiral staircases.

For your safety all Oto AIR stair lifts are fitted as standard with a retractable inertia seatbelt.
With the Otolift in your home, you and others can continue to walk the stairs just as you did before. Usually the bannister can stay in place, and the AIR takes up a minimum amount of space, leaving ample room on the stairs to use as normal.
The AIR offers a good range of clever solutions. The seat can be swivelled either manually or automatically (depending on model) at the top of the stairs, allowing a safe dismount.
All Oto AIR stairlifts are fitted with pressure sensitive safety edges as standard. Should the stairlift encounter an obstruction while travelling it will automatically stop.
Another solution is the short start: a short piece of rail that leaves doors at the bottom of the stairs free to open and close. Of course, your AIR can also be supplied with parking bends at both the top and bottom. The wider side of the stairs can be left completely free. The unobtrusive single rail design is positioned low above your stairs and your bannister can stay where it is.
The Oto AIR can be controlled by either the simple mechanical 'paddle' at the end of the seat arm, or by way of the radio frequency remote control handset, two of which are supplied.
All Oto AIR stairlifts come with two handy infa-red remote controls. Particularly useful when there are two users of the stairlift.
