The Acorn Stairlift is powered by a maintenance-free DC power pack, which ensures your lift works even in the event of a power cut.
The smooth start/stop action means just that, no sudden jerks or jolts; and the near-silent motion of the lift blends unobtrusively into your home.
Another feature pioneered by Acorn is the onboard diagnostic control panel which alerts you to any potential problems before they arise, (e.g. the stairlift has accidentally been switched off or incorrectly parked).

Ergonomically designed operating toggle switch can be found at the end of both arms of the stairlift.
The Acorn 130 stairlift is available for use outdoors. The outdoor version comes with specially coated components and a weather resistant cover.
Mounted on the carriage of the stairlift is a digital display which shows clearly when the lift is in the normal operating position, and also provides invaluable diagnostic information in the unlikely event of a fault with your stairlift.
There are 5 surfaces / edges that stop the stairlift in event of a collision with any obstruction on the stairway. These are located around the footrest, and on the top and bottom of the carriage.
The stairlift seat swivels and locks in position, making mounting and dismounting the stairlift easy and safe. The stairlift will not operate unless the seat is in the correct riding position.
Acorn Stairlifts can be controlled by either the simple mechanical 'paddle' at the end of each seat arm, or by way of the infra-red remote control handset, two of which are supplied. The paddle overrides the remote controls, which are ideal when there are 2 users in the house and the lift needs to be 'sent' or 'called' up and down the stairs. The wireless design means that there is no unsightly wall-mounted wiring or control stations.
For extra security and safety, Acorn Stairlifts are fitted with an inertia reel lap harness or can be fitted with a static, 3-point, fixed over-shoulder harness.
All modern stairlifts are now battery operated and the charging of these batteries is fully automatic. A major advantage of this battery power is in the unfortunate event of a power outage, the Acorn Stairlift will continue to operate.

In addition to these key features, the Acorn Superglide 120 also has a lockable isolation switch, uses electronic and mechanical braking systems, has whisper quiet operation and can carry a maximum load of 120kg (294lb). A 160kg (350lb) option is available.
